In 2010 AR Engineering Industries rolled out an exciting new scheme offering apprenticeships to local young people wanting to embark on a career in Engineering.

The current government sees apprenticeships a key tool the future prosperity of the country by ensuring that we have a workforce that is adequately skilled to drive economic growth. In fact in the first academic quarter of this 2010, despite falling short of initial targets, apprenticeships were up by 32 percent compared to last 2009.

At AR Engineering Industries we see the value of the scheme in not only strengthening our own organisation's position at the present moment, but also in helping to contribute to the future success British engineering and manufacturing by offering opportunities to the young people that will make up the workforce in this industry.

We have recently taken on 2 apprentices under the government’s apprenticeship scheme and in the few months since we began have seen a huge success.

We enable our apprentices to work in a supervised, safe and structured environment, giving them the benefit of the many years of experience that exists in our current workforce.  This gives them a valuable hands on taste of real working life, while along side this, they attend college for 2 days a weeks were they are given an academic basis upon which their vocational experience can grow.
