History

During 2009 A&R Engineering (as you may have formerly known the company) achieved accreditation to the ISO9001:2008 Quality Assurance standard. Subsequently after a careful business review it was decided that following restructuring and expanding the scope of services offered, A&R Engineering would re-launch as AR Engineering Industries Ltd… but where did it all begin….?

A&R Engineering was established in Kent 1994 by Alan Cooper and Roy Osborn, who worked together with their wives to build a solid foundation on which to grow and develop a successful and stable manufacturing business.

The retirement of Roy in 2004 saw Alan welcome his children, Daniel and Claire to join him and his wife Christine to continue to expand the company.

In 2005 the achievements of the team were recognised when A&R were placed as Runners Up in the Dartford Small Business Awards; not only a great honour for the business, but also a reflection of the dedication of A&R Engineering and all of the employees to; serve both our local and more widespread economies, the growth and development of the organisation and, to the use of new technologies.

As a result of this success A&R became a member of the now Thames Gateway Chamber of Commerce and Claire is a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

Along side the primary business activities carried out A&R have always been proud to support a number of charities and local organisations. From fun and games on Red Nose day, sponsorship of Bexleyheath Golf Club and the We Will Rock You West End Musical football team and supporting Britain's National Charity for sick Children, Well Child.

A&R have always taken pride in the personal service that all of our customers have always been assured of, and believe this guarantee is attributed to being a family managed business. As AR Engineering Industries Ltd we will continue to operate with the concept of traditional family values and as a result have a team of loyal employees committed to serving our customers to the highest standard.

AR Engineering Industries employs a team of highly skilled and conscientious precision engineers. Our vastly experienced machinists and engineers, together with our ancillary staff work passionately towards one common goal: to deliver products of unrivalled quality supported by an equally exemplary service.

Alan Cooper is one of the founders of AR Engineering; with more than 40 years experience in the engineering industry he provides a key managerial figure whilst playing a hands on roll in the manufacturing facility. He leads a team of engineers who are all highly motivated and thrive on the true team spirit that is present at AR Engineering Industries Ltd allowing us to maintain high levels of productivity.

As a Mechanical Engineering Masters Graduate, Claire Cooper, joined the business to take on the role of Engineering Partner, with the additional responsibility for, the development of the Quality Management System and Quality Assurance Practices. Following successful implementation of the system Claire is now focusing more significantly on Business Development.

Together with Alan and Claire, the AR Engineering Industries Ltd engineering, technical and support staff work as a team to ensure service continuity, efficiency and quality.
